It's 2023 and Faith is now in Grade R Homeschooling.
She's pretty excited to start Grade R and we are continuing with CAP Kids Educational Resources.
So, why do we prefer using CAP Kids?
Well, Faith has been learning with CAP Kids since she was 3 years old and we've seen how well she took to learning ever since the first lesson. The lessons are fun and you can teach at your child's pace. You don't have to be a qualified teacher to teach these lessons and personally, I love teaching these lessons to Faith.
I make each lesson fun for Faith and add to it when I see Faith enjoying a certain subject. Let me give an example:
One of the lessons was about Family. She had to draw her family and identify her family members. So she drew me, her Dad, and herself (well she added a very tiny human and I did not address that because it was invisible to me. Lol)
I then took it a step further and brought up photos of extended family and had her identify them (eg. aunty, grandma, grandpa, etc.) I'd then look for a fun song about family on YouTube and she'd have fun dancing while learning.
A basic school day for Faith begins with a Bible story, praise, worship, and prayer. She then practices writing, counting, and reading.
Some days I add a science experiment to her science lesson and she also loves learning about the solar system, animals, and nature.
Ending off her school day she does a dance and freeze or the floor is lava activity on YouTube. All this takes about 3hrs per day.
The rest of the day she has free play and continues learning by helping with chores.
With CAP Kids Faith was able to identify numbers and letters from an early age and wrote her name at age 3. She loves learning and can "do school" all day if I allowed it. I'm super impressed with how Miranda set out these lessons. She has a heart for children and with these lessons, she helps them learn in ways they would adapt to.
